Strength and Courage
“Be Strong and Courageous, for the Lord is with you wherever you go”- Joshua 1:9
When I used to envision a courageous person I would often think of someone without fear, a person who was full of fearless strength.
Jill Briscoe said it like this, “Courage isn't a feeling that you wait for. Courage is doing when you don't have courage. Courage is doing it scared.” What she was saying is that courage is being crippled with fear and still choosing to go. Knowing that it’s risky and loving them anyway.
Paul Miller in his book , “A Loving Life” said, “Agape love combines commitment with sacrifice. It is love without an exit strategy. When you love like this you bind yourself to the object of your love no matter what the response is.”
A dear friend once explained, “It is how God loves through you”.
Today as you choose to step out and courageously love vulnerable children and families I want you to know that you are strong and courageous and the Lord is with you wherever you go.
